Refund Policy
LinkGuard AI operates on a pay-as-you-go token model. There are no subscriptions, no recurring charges, and no billing cycles. You buy tokens when you need them, and they remain in your account until you use them. This policy explains when and how you can request a refund on a token purchase.
All payments are processed by Paddle.com Market Limited as our Merchant of Record.
1. Refund Eligibility
You may request a refund on any token purchase within 14 calendar days from the date of that purchase. The refund applies only to the unused portion of the tokens from that specific purchase — tokens that have already been consumed by the Service are non-refundable.
After the 14-day window, the purchase is considered final and no refund is available, regardless of whether the tokens have been used.
What counts as "used": Tokens are consumed each time the Service performs a metered action on your behalf — for example, running an HTML check on a backlink or a SERP indexation check. Consumed tokens are deducted from the purchased balance in real time and cannot be returned.
2. How the Refund Is Calculated
The refund amount is calculated proportionally to the unused tokens from the specific purchase being refunded:
Formula:
Refund Amount = (Unused Tokens ÷ Total Tokens in Purchase) × Amount Paid
Example: You purchased the Standard package: $50 for 55,000 tokens. You consumed 10,000 tokens and request a refund within 14 days.
- Unused tokens: 45,000 of 55,000
- Refund amount: 45,000 / 55,000 × $50 = $40.91
- The remaining 45,000 unused tokens are removed from your balance after the refund is issued.
If you have made multiple token purchases and request a refund, we refund each eligible purchase separately. The most recently purchased tokens are considered spent first for the purpose of calculating refunds (LIFO — last in, first out), so older purchases outside the 14-day window are not affected.
3. How to Request a Refund
Send a refund request to billing@linkguard.ai with:
- Your registered email address
- The transaction ID from your Paddle receipt (format:
txn_...) - A brief reason (optional — helps us improve the product)
Alternatively, refunds for recent charges can be initiated directly through the Paddle Customer Portal. The link is included in your Paddle invoice email.
We confirm receipt of your request within 1 business day.
4. Processing Time
Refunds are processed by Paddle (our Merchant of Record), not directly by LinkGuard AI. Once approved, refunds typically appear on your original payment method within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank or card issuer.
5. Non-Refundable Cases
The following are not eligible for refund:
- Tokens already consumed by the Service (HTML checks, SERP checks, or any other metered action)
- Purchases older than 14 calendar days from the transaction date
- Unused token balance after account deletion (see Section 7)
- Tokens awarded as promotional bonuses, referral credits, or gifts — these have no monetary value
- Purchases made by accounts terminated for Terms of Service violations (see Section 9)
- Custom Enterprise packages billed by invoice, unless otherwise agreed in writing
6. Token Lifecycle
Tokens behave as follows:
- No expiration: Tokens remain available in your account for as long as the account is active and the Service is operational.
- Non-transferable: Tokens cannot be transferred, sold, or assigned to another account or user.
- No cash value: Outside the 14-day refund window, tokens cannot be converted back to cash, transferred, or withdrawn.
- Consumption order: Tokens are consumed in the order described in Section 2 (LIFO for refund purposes). Promotional bonus tokens may be consumed first depending on account settings.
7. Account Deletion
If you delete your account — whether voluntarily by your request, or as a result of prolonged inactivity — any remaining unused token balance is forfeited and cannot be refunded, transferred, or recovered.
IMPORTANT: If you want a refund on any eligible unused tokens before deleting your account, request the refund first (within the 14-day window of that purchase). Once the account is deleted, no refund can be issued, even for recent purchases.
Loss of account access (for example, forgetting your password and being unable to recover it) is treated the same as account deletion for refund purposes.
8. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes
We strongly encourage you to contact us before initiating a chargeback with your bank or card issuer. Most billing issues can be resolved quickly and directly.
IMPORTANT: Chargebacks initiated without first contacting support may result in immediate account suspension pending investigation. Confirmed fraudulent chargebacks will result in permanent account termination and may be reported to Paddle for fraud prevention purposes.

9. Account Termination for Policy Violations
If your account is terminated by LinkGuard AI for violation of our Terms of Service — including prohibited use, fraud, or abuse of the Service — you are not eligible for a refund on any unused tokens.
